Lindsey Karls Illinois
A member of the International Law Society, Lindsey Karls earned her juris doctor degree from the University of Iowa in 2008. During her three years of study there, Lindsey Karls served as a member of the Iowa Campaign for Human Rights, Anderson University Center for Public Service, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. A resident of Illinois, she studied international relations abroad in England, Egypt, and France.
Beginning in 2007, Lindsey Karls accepted a job as research assistant for the university's College of Law. In this role, she searched through newspaper articles as far back as 1890 to complete a law review article, with a primary focus on historical criminal legal theory. She also reviewed and edited textbook chapters to ensure academic accuracy. She also held a summer associate position for the Indianapolis law firm Baker & Daniels, for which she drafted memoranda for training new attorneys in litigation.
An avid follower of international politics, Ms. Karls volunteers with Justice for Our Neighbors, a nonprofit organization for which she researches potential immigration issues for domestic violence victims seeking refuge in the United States.
